Busy times

Wow, I feel like I haven't blogged in a while. This past month has been so busy, I went to California once more before the year was over, we celebrated Thanksgiving, and Kailani has been extremely active, oh and we found out we were definately pregnant! I think that was the biggest surprise seeing as to how we so weren't ready, but I guess we're on this pregnancy ride one more time.
As far as California, that was another one of my random trips. My parents ended up selling their restaurant and were taking a trip so I decided I would join them. I was so happy to be able to see my sister and her kids, my grandparents and Dana's family. Kailani isn't used to seeing them and it breaks my heart that she wouldn't let anyone hold her, I really feel bad, but she's at the stage where she now remembers faces and if she doesn't know you she won't let go of mommy! Anyway we had lots of fun seeing everyone, even though we were so busy the 4 days we were there went by way to fast.
Anyway, this past month I also learned how to use a sewing machine and yesterday I made a canopy cover for Kailani's car seat. She keeps kicking off the blankets and keeping blankets on top is a hassle so I've seen people with them around town and decided to make one for her, and it came out so cute! Oh we also got some family pictures taken, which I was super excited for since they were our first family pictures! And Tiffany did such a good job, here are some of my fav.

I wanted to do a fun pattern for the inside and this is what I came up with

I think this one is priceless

what a pretty princess

One of my fav

just bc mommy's the best! lol

Decorating Fun

Yesterday was such a blast, I woke up excited as can be to decorate Kailani's room! Since she was born I've been trying to create a cute girly, vintage look, but I had failed so far. Well I went to Joann's and bought fabric for curtains and borrowed my mom for the day! lol We also went to Hobby lobby where I bought these cute hooks for the curtains and a cute light switch cover! It all turned out so cute, I originally thought I'd use green ribbon for the curtain, but the brown looked a lot better so we went with that. I also ended up painting her name to a lighter pink since they were hot pink before, and I was going to hang them on ribbon, but I didn't have enough of the right color, so I ended up just glueing ribbons on the actual letters!
Anyway I ended up finishing around 7 last night but I love how it came together.

I love this

My sister in law Nicole was also over last night and since we had the sewing machine, we decided to play with it and try to make some blankets! Little did we know we'd succeed, they came out looking really good for first timers! Luckily, Nicole has taken sewing classes and she kinda remembered certain things to do! lol Anyway here are the blankets we made and I even made a little burpy cloth, I think for now we've agreed on sticking to sewing in straight lines! lol

I loved this material & the bright colors!

pretty good I would say!

October in General

So this past month has been kinda crazy. I started the month by getting a gym membership and started working out, I even lost a couple of lbs, and I was feeling good about myself; well at least that lasted for two weeks. We also attended a Halloween party and did things around the house.
Oh we also got Kailani walking up the stairs, but she still doesn't know what to do about coming back down, it's one the cutest things because she gets so happy that she can do it. She also is talking a lot more, I even caught her at church making noises while we were singing the hymns, I think she's starting to understand a lot more.

Other than that I should also say that my work out only lasted for two weeks because I quickly found out that Dana and I are expecting baby #2! It was a total surprise and we're still trying to figure out how everything happened so quickly and still at least I'm still in disbelief. Dana on the other hand handled it pretty well, he's trying to be supportive and look at the positive side, but I'm still kinda on the back burner. But with enough prayer and positive thinking I know I will get better at accepting the fact that I've got another baby on the way.
On a lighter note, Halloween was pretty fun, we went to our church Harvest festival on Friday night which was so much fun with all the kids dressed up and the games. On Saturday I dressed up Kailani as a pumpkin and she was such a cute, happy pumpkin we didn't do much trick or treating because she's still so small, but we did give out candy to all the trick or treaters. Hopefully next year will be more of an active Halloween for Kailani.

it's been a while

I think my blog is at a much needed update! My camera broke the last time I went to California, which has all to do with why I haven't blogged, but I finally found my old camera that works almost as good.

So here are a couple of updates:
First off, Kailani is turning 8 months today! It's so totally insane how fast she has grown, time sure has flown by! In the past 3 to 4 weeks she has stood on her own, gotten her first tooth and started making the funniest faces! She is such a blast to have around when no one else is here, sometimes I catch myself talking to her at the store and I think people think I must be crazy! lol

We also managed to find her Halloween costume, at this big Halloween store in town, I decided to make her a Pumpkin and she looks so cute in her outfit!
Oh I also forgot to mention she sips juice out of juice boxes! I'm sure she is doing much more, but it seemslike its something new everyday, I can't keep upith her! lol

We also got invited to a costume party this last weekend so Dana was originally going to be a baseball player, but he ended up being Michael Jackson instead! lol It was so funny to see him dressed up as Michael, and I decided I would be a Police-woman just for fun! Dana's brother Chuck, was the funniest, he went as a trailer park redneck, and his wife as a cute clown! It was such a good night, playing games and eating some delish dip! Now we just need to decide whether we will be having a Halloween party or not, I've been trying to convince Dana but he hasn't budged just yet.

Game Day

Last weekend we went to the USU game! Dana's friend Robbie plays for Southern Utah University, and they happened to play USU this last weekend so he got us tickets to watch them play. It was really exciting to see Kailani at her first football game, she behaved pretty good for having to sit there for 3 hours and having teething pains.
Anyway it was a really good game I even ended up getting into it, I thought we would get into an altercation if we wore Red at the Aggies stadium so I played it safe and wore a neutral color! Those Aggies fans sure are something else, and unfortunately they ended up winning the game in the end!
'

On a side note, Kailani is definately getting her first tooth, it's no wonder she was so whinny all week. I can already see the tooth peeking out ( how stinken cute)- I also had a random thought about this whole tooth thing--- I was wondering why doesn't it hurt babies gums when they only have one tooth? Interesting question right? Anyway good nite!

Random California Trip

Last Thursday I was talking to my sister saying it would be awesome if I could somehow make it to the twins' birthday party, which was that Sunday! I thought there was just no way, but I called my cousin who is a truck driver and he happened to be in Salt Lake so I made a couple of phone calls and just like that I was on my way to California! It felt so surreal, and random, although I was a little nervous with Kailani and it being a longer ride than in a car. Anyway we got there safe on Friday and met up with my sister and off we were to Hemet where she lives. I can't believe how big the kids got in just 2 months, Nathaniel loves Kailani and she also gets excited when she sees's him, I think they understand each others baby language! lol
It's funny to see how the kids interact and play together. Friday night, we also got to hang out with Dana's family for a little bit, and unfortunately Kailani was being quite the brat, she didn't want anyone else to hold her but me or her auntie Cindy, I don't know what her deal was! But we still had such a good time hanging out and talking.

Saturday morning we went out to Newport Beach, where it was so fun to see how Gianna loves the water, she's such an adventurer and all she wanted to do is be in the water, she even tried to go all by herself in the ocean! Nathaniel on the other hand rather hangout on the beach playing with the sand and his toys. It was hilarious to see Gianna covered in sand and eating every thing with sand, those kids are so stinken funny!
Oh did  I mention I got to have Jack in the Box! Yum I love their 2/$1 tacos and curly fries.
And I got lots of good pictures of the kids at the beach apparently!

That day we also were able to spend more time with Dana's family and have dinner, I can say I enjoy all of grandpa Chuck and Grandpa Gigi's stories! The time totally flies by when you are having fun! But for some reason I didn't really get any pics of us at the house.

Sunday we had fun at the kids birthday party, it was so funny to see Nathaniel stick his hand in the cake, and Gianna opening her gifts, shes so smart, and I think she likes to be the life of the party because she sure knows how to make people laugh! Anyway the rest of the time I was there I just hung out with the kids and my sister, its so nice to spend time with them whenever I can since I'm so far! I also got to go out to dinner with my sister in law Cindy, I sometimes wish we lived a lot closer! I can't wait for Baby Cindy or Seth to join the family in March!!!

The Big 2-4

My birthday was on Friday and we decided to celebrate by going out to dinner in Ogden. The original plan was that we would go to Friday's, but we decided to go to Famous Dave's BBQ, which was a little weird, because it was kinda empty when we got there, but the food was delish! And I'm so happy that we all got to go and hang out (thank goodness for a wonderful family.) Anyway so other than that on Friday, I just got gifts from the parents, oh and the realization that I'm only getting older! ugh

So apparently, the new thing is a Birthday weekend, so we kept celebrating Saturday by watching our favorite College Football team USC play against Ohio, and we are so happy they USC ended up winning after Ohio thought they had it in the bag!
Anyway as most of you know my parents are at the restaurant everyday Mon-Sat, so we got to celebrate my birthday on Sunday, at my parent house. My brother and parents were so nice to have put together some food, and cake, and it was all so yummy. Unfortunately, Dana had to come home and study so he was gone after about an hour, but we still had fun playing Guitar Hero 5 with my brother, and watching Kailani get her self up and try walking! I know I always talk about her, but she basically is my world now, and everyday she does something new! Anyway thanks to everyone who made my birthday a blast!

Here's Kailani enjoying my birthday ice cream!
I just really liked this outfit above and took lots of pictures of her!
And these are just random pictures of kailani I've taken

Growth Spurt & More

This past week has been so exciting for Kailani, she finally learned that she needs to crawl forward and not backwards! It's the cutest thing, to see her try to get around and grab for everything. She also says dada and mom even though she doesn't know she does it she totally says it! She has grown up so fast, and I don't know where time went. I remember when she was born and now she's already 6 months HOLY COW!

Thursday, she got to spend time with her new friend Owen, I think she found a new play date! It was totally cute to watch them interact with each other and laugh. It's so nice to have her play with another baby, Owen is 8 months old so it works out so good since they are only 2 months apart.

She also showed her funny side this week, when I was bathing her. She totally had her head down the whole time and she finally looked up and had a soap unibrow, it made it that much more funny when she sat there and laughed about it!
This week has been such a fun week to watch Kailani grow. I hope that this process slows down a little bit, so I can enjoy her new growth spurt!
On another note, Dana and I also have had some time to enjoy each other's company before he has to start school full time on Monday and work Full time! I know I don't express this enough but, I am so blessed to have such a hard working husband and provider for our family! Sometimes we confuse things we Need with things we Want, and I'm thankful to have Dana remind me of that and come back to earth! (lol) We know that everything is never perfect, we're not the Partridge family, we make mistakes, we talk them out and we move on. Our family is Blessed with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and we know that no matter what we will be an eternal Family!
